FAME Centrals Results:
Who ever thought Toronto would
again experience a similar power outage to the
one that made history a couple of summers ago? As we kicked
off the first Finals (Fitness/Fitness Modeling) of this
event we certainly found out! Not only did the entire
building go black but so did the entire York campus. Perfect
timing too - just as people were filing in as
the opening number hit the stage. While this power outage-
courtesy of Toronto Hydro- didn’t exactly hit news pages
everywhere, it certainly disrupted our world at the FAME Centrals
and forced us into prayers!

Thankfully, all was not
lost as the electrical did resurface after a lengthy delay.
While the motto is usually ‘the show must go on’, it definitely
made it difficult when the entire building had no electricity
leaving the theatre with no light or sound!

Ah yes, the feeling of good old camp days crept up as
all the competitors gathered round on stage : ) We cannot
thank the competitors enough for their patience and understanding
during this situation- we know it was an un-welcomed delay,
but one beyond our control.

Thanks for hanging in there and proving you are truly
performers- especially to the majority who were first
time competitors- we realize it wasn’t exactly the best
way to kick off your competition experience, so thanks
for being troopers : )

And a big thanks as well to the audience for hanging
in there to support their friends and families on stage-
their moment to shine wouldn’t have been the same without
your cheers!

A big thank you also goes
out to the wonderful exhibitors who attended the event
and were forced to close up shop due to the power outage-
we certainly appreciated having them around during the
day/Judging though.

Thanks to Allmax, Prolab,
KHP, Upper 49th and of course FAME title sponsor,
Faremon. Also to the Tropicaliente Dancers who were to perform
as entertainment during the Finals- hopefully we will
get to sit back and enjoy your high energy grooves in
the future!
A special thanks also
to our FAME Centrals Event Emcee, Chris Batista! Most
people would agree it’s not easy getting up on stage in
front of a theatre of strangers to entertain, let alone
with no lights or microphone! Thanks for doing a fabulous
job Chris with the ‘campfire’!

And talk about guts! Our
very own Amanda Colbert, Fitness Model competitor got
right up on stage to perform an incredible rendition of
the Alicia Keys hit, ‘If I ‘aint got you’ with no mic
and no lights. Thanks for filling the theatre of darkness
with sweet sounds Amanda! And just think- if the power
didn’t go, we may never have discovered this star right
on our stage! Good things do come out of everything! Way
to go Amanda- hope to hear more of you in the future!

We would like to commend
ALL competitors for their hard work and dedication during
this competition-our congratulations goes out to all of
you for putting in the time, effort and courage it takes
to get up on stage and show off your fit physique! You
did a fabulous job representing natural competition!

Congratulations to first
place winners and newly qualified Pro competitors; Jennifer Bright (Figure), Sue
Cornwell (Overall Bodybuilding Female), Michael
Kwao, who taking the Overall Bodybuilding Male
title proved he is not only a fabulous model (Michael
is already qualified as a Pro Model from previous competition)
but an impressive bodybuilder!
Also to Erin
Vint (Fitness), Maurice
Florendo (Fitness Model- Male) and
Adriana
Nunes (Fitness
Model- Female) who took the title after a nail biting
3 way tie- talk about serious competition! As proper judging
procedure outlines for this unique circumstance, we had
to drop the high and low scores and Adriana came out on
top with the win! Further dropping the highs and lows
again we were able to determine the 2nd and
3rd places amongst the remaining top 2 ladies.
It was close- congratulations to all ladies for ‘bringing
it on’!

Congratulations also go
out to all ‘top placers’ in each competition category
and division (weight & masters bodybuilding only)
who now qualify to compete in the Advanced division at
the FAME World Championships; Figure- Nancy DiNino, Michelle
Weidman, Melissa Nelson and Lori Welch; Fitness- Lianna Sadi and Lisa
Hughes; Bodybuilding
Female- Esther Marson, Jill Gilinds, Carolyn
Kanstra, Elizabeth Craig, Dona Rae Rowlands, Lisa Mustard,
Lisa Nordin and Roxanne Louise Rose; Bodybuilding Male-
Andrew Baklan, Radoslow Staskewicz, Paul Eade.
Peter Rajaram, Tony Mutto, Dewayne Sanderson, Mike Clark,
Douglas French, David Jason Green, Wayne Crooks, Sebastian
Rahman, Marty Gabriele, Joshua Atsriku, Dan Wojtkiewicz,
Bob Macwilliam, Daryl Lambie, Jahauel Chisholm; Fitness
Model Female- Hazal Nelson, Kim Allan, Kelly
Taphouse, Luna Sechi, Lora Morgan, Tina Crupi, Amanda
Colebrook, Christine Barry, Amber Routter- Mitchell; Fitness Model Male- Alireza Sassani, Ben Bessong,
Radoslow Staskewicz and Brandon Loewen.

This event
will definitely go down in tour history as a memorable
one! Thanks for participating and again for your enthusiasm
and efforts!

We hope
to see all the fabulous FAME Centrals competitors up on
stage again in June, along with the rest of the industry
from around the world! Make your mark at FAME 2005!
