FAME Centrals-Toronto, ON April 15, 2006

Following the tremendous success of FAME West in Vancouver and FAME Maritimes, the 2006 FAME World Tour stopped in the home of the World Championships, Toronto, for the FAME Centrals. Although these past events were undoubtedly tough acts to follow, when all was said and done FAME Centrals lived up the challenge and the hype to become one of the best FAME shows to date. With extremely talented performances by our FAME Athletes as well as amazing opening numbers from the high flying Team Ryoko and the dance troupe DLM, this was an event that was not to be missed. With friends, family and hardcore FAME fans out in attendance, the athletes took the energy from the crowd and put everything on the line to give the performance of a lifetime. FAME Centrals created such an extraordinary buzz around Toronto that representatives from Sportsnet and CTV came out to cover the show as well representatives from CHIN, who there scouting from our talented group of Athletes/Models. The event included competitors in Fitness, Fitness Modeling, Figure & Natural Bodybuilding categories. The athletes proved to all in attendance that with a combination of hard work, determination, and discipline that anything is attainable if you put your mind to it. With amazing performances and feats of strength, flexibility and endurance, no athlete left the stage without making a lasting impact on the crowd.

Anna Kocis wowed the crowd with her Gladiator themed performance to take the Fitness Category while Paula Ryff put on a wonderful show and took home a first place trophy in the Figure category. In the Fitness Model category Michael McFarlane and Alison Playford withheld stern competition from their respective competitors to take first place. In the female muscle division, Esther Marson won the Lightweight and Masters Category, but it was Maria Mikola who made her mark by winning the Overall competition and becoming a FAME Muscle Pro. In the Male Muscle divisions Paolo Briguglio, Thomas Chiplick, Devin Olivieri and Richard Seguin all won their respective categories, but when it was all said and done Maurice Vaillancourt took home the Pro Card with an incredible physique and a unique "Price Is Right" themed performance. If that wasn’t enough, he also put on an incredible "Flintstones" themed performance with Marie Eve Anctil to further strengthen his FAME Centrals presence with a 1st prize in the pairs division.

FAME World Tour would like to thank our Regional Event Director Sean Everingham and our Director of Event Operations Shannon Lucier as well as all our volunteers for all of their hard work during the weekend. We would also like to thank Steve Daunheimer, the Official FAME Photographer for shooting the stage events.
