FAME WEST

On April 1st

2006, FAME World Tour began its season not only in Moncton, NB but Vancouver, British Columbia as well. Vancouver welcomed FAME World Tour once again as athletes from Vancouver to Australia came to compete at this spectacular FAME West regional event. The audience roared with delight as athletes stepped out on stage. Not only did local media cover this event, we were pleased to have the very talented Jason Stratham from both The Transporter and Transporter 2 in our audience. Jason heard the event was coming to Vancouver and was very excited to come watch this amazing FAME West event.

This group of athletes was truly exceptional, they cheered each other on and had smiles that reached from ear to ear. The audience was even serenaded by our first place fitness model male winner Garfield Wilson. That’s not all! Our Emcee Chris Batista arranged a special message with the audience, having them yell out Happy Anniversary to his wife.

This event included bodybuilding, fitness modeling, figure and fitness categories. The models came out with spectacular outfits that showed off everything that they had worked so hard for. Garfield Wilson and Joy Nguyen both took home 1st place trophies over the weekend for the Fitness Model category. Elya McCleave received first place in the Fitness category and had a very unique routine that included traditional tribal dance and a very colourful costume. Lisa Hansen, Bryce Erickson, and Timothy Croswell all took home 1st place trophies for the Muscle divisions. John Leke also showed the audience that he still had what it takes, which won him 1st place in Masters category and with an unanimous decision by the judges Lisa Hansen and Timothy Croswell walked away Overall winners in Muscle.

The evening didn’t end there, each figure competitor strutted their stuff on stage and performed their routines one by one, Tiffany Burns shined onstage and also left that evening a 1st place winner. It was also great to have Linda Cusmano and Deloris Piper performing their pair’s routine which was enjoyed by all.

FAME World Tour would like to thank our promoter Nancy Lockington for a wonderful job she did putting on this event as well as all the volunteers that were on hand to assist the staff during the day. We also want to thank Steve Daunheimer, the official FAME Photographer for shooting the stage events as well as our backstage photographer Michael McCaughey from On-Site Digital Photography who took photos of the athletes behind the scenes. We would also like to thank our sponsors Popeye’s Supplements, EAS Canada, Allmax and Amino Vital for donating wonderful prizes to all the athletes. Last but not least, we would like to thank the city of Vancouver and the Centennial Theatre for all their hard work to help us put on such a wonderful show.
