Our Exclusive Interview with Miss Koya Webb
How did you get started in the fitness industry?
I won the figure and fitness model divisions at the
WNSO FAME Sunshine State competition in Miami, FL in March 2005. This was
my first introduction to the fitness arena. I’ve always admired sculpted
bodies and a fellow aerobics instructor (Sandra Augustine) told me I should
try figure competitions. I was skeptical at first, but thought it would be
a great way to meet other fitness professionals and jumpstart my career in
helping create a healthier society.
What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment is realizing my purpose in
life which is to live mentally, spiritually, and physically fit and share
this way of fitness with others.
Is fitness modeling/ competition your
full-time job?
No. I’m also an actress,
strength, conditioning, and lifestyle coach for the San Diego Siege(Women’s
semi pro basketball team), and a vegan and vegetarian chef at Ranchos Restaurant.
What are your long-term goals?
My long term goals include owning a full service spa,
an Olympic Gold Medal, my own production company and talk show, a couple fitness
videos, a healthy restaurant, an uplifting CD, and a couple of books.
What supplements do you use?
I use Arbonne’s women’s multi vitamin and
essential fatty acid supplement, a Mega B-Stress by Solaray, and Silica by
Eidon
How do you motivate yourself to stay in shape?
I keep pictures of my self when I weighed 135 and was
9% body fat in my journal. When I start slipping I remind myself that once
it’s gone, it’s twice as hard to get in back.
What tips would you give to someone
who wanted to get into the fitness modeling (or fitness competition).
I would tell them to research exactly what they want
to do and learn how to be the best, but most of all have fun.
